Our Ranch

AlpacaTown is located in the town of Coventry, Connecticut, 20 miles east of Hartford. Our sprawling ranch rests on 64 acres of rocky, rolling terrain, reminiscent of the alpaca's native home in mountainous South America. The New England estate is complete with a lake, meandering creeks, eighteenth century stone walls, and of course, a herd of beautiful Alpacas. The main house on the property was built in 1726 and has witnessed many cycles of life and history over the course of almost 300 years. We are so proud that by choosing this magnificent location for our alpaca business, we too have become a part of the long legacy of this house.

Our ranch is owned and operated by Richard and Mary Marenger. Richard has ten years experience in the livestock industry and is currently a Senior Account Executive for a top medical company. His wife, Dr. Mary Marenger is a Senior Medical Executive and has been working in the medical industry for 17 years.
